Courtney Faunce is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC17700, Nationally Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (C-CATP), Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider, and Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT) Level III Trained therapist. She is also an EMDRIA approved EMDR Therapist. Courtney has been in private practice for over seven years and is the owner and creator of Embody Therapy and EMDR, LLC. Embody Therapy is a private mental wellness practice focusing on helping individuals on their journey healing the mind, body, and spirit connection.Courtney has been a resident of SWFL since 2004 after relocating from New Jersey. She spends her time enjoying travel and nature, cooking something new, lifting weights, and listening to music as much as possible. Courtney is a proud dog&cat momma to Nori and Citi.

Professional Experience
Courtney graduated from the CACREP accredited program at Florida Gulf Coast University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She completed her undergraduate studies at Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology. Courtney served as a 211 Big Bend crisis counselor as well as the Family Health Line (1-800-451-2229). Among her academic focus, Courtney completed studies in Medical Epidemiology, Social Psychology, and Social Justice. Courtney has three years of experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Florida Department of Education. Courtney began her private practice in November 2017 with Lifescape Counseling Services, LLC, now known as Lifescape Integrative Therapy. Courtney served as Agency Partner at Lifescape for two years assisting in operations of the group practice, outreach and community building, and professional development initiatives. While in private practice, Courtney spent two semesters teaching Group Dynamics at Florida Southwestern College as an adjunct professor. She is now owner and creator of Embody Therapy and EMDR, LLC focusing on helping individuals on their journey healing the mind, body, and spirit connection.

Courtney recognizes the spectrum of disordered eating regarding our relationship with food, body movement, body image, and maladaptive coping from trauma. Individual Psychotherapy
50-minute sessions $150
90-minute sessions $250
Whatever your reason for seeking out mental health therapy, I’m dedicated to helping you find personal growth and healing. Once a week individual sessions are commonly recommended to ensure we can identify your needs and create sustainable changes. I work with my clients collaboratively as you will always be the expert of your life. Using an integrative approach, individual sessions include cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, somatic attachment therapy.

Family Therapy
60-minute sessions $160
Our family is often our most significant support system however, the family can also be in need of healing. It is through empathy and consistency, family members can repair these crucial relationships. Family sessions can be extremely beneficial to get the healing process started. I help families develop a deeper understanding of mental wellness. We work on effective communication, co-regulation skills, mutual boundary setting, and much more. Ultimately, these sessions create the important and necessary space where all family members can be heard.

EMDR Therapy
60-minute sessions $150
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly evidence-based therapy to treat trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addictions, disordered eating, phobias, sleep issues, and much more. EMDR can be used as a stand-alone treatment plan or integrated into regular ongoing talk therapy. Utilizing bilateral stimulation, specific processing protocols, and resourcing techniques, EMDR allows clients to experience profound neurological healing and cognitive shifts in as little as 1-3 processing sessions. An individual living in fear may believe “I am not safe” and after EMDR therapy, the person can live life with the new belief “I can create safe spaces.” I will work with you to design a plan for treatment for you to get the most out of your EMDR experience.

Intuitive Eating Counseling
50-minute sessions $150
As a licensed therapist specializing in the treatment of disordered eating, my goal in session is to provide a space of healing through pure authenticity. I help my clients on their journey to discover their True Self through the practice of Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy. This specialized approach utilizes numerous evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Intuitive Eating Principles.

Emotional Support Animals
Assessment and ESA Letter $150
I strongly believe in the healing powers of our relationships with our animals. I am able to provide this documentation after assessing your needs during individual therapy treatment. I do not provide letters as a stand-alone service unless clients are currently working with a professional. Emotional Support Animal Letters are provided in alignment with the Fair Housing Act as well as the American’s with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Online Services
Individual and family sessions are available virtually through Doxy.me, a HIPAA compliant interface. The same rates and availability apply for online sessions.
EMDR is not available online at this time.
