Bridget Lyons

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Welcome! My name is Bridget Lyons and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions at the Embody Therapy Collective here in Cape Coral. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 10 years, and I am happy to listen, validate, and help you process your concerns. I am a mother of an energetic 4-year-old girl, and I value and understand the beauty as well as the challenges that motherhood can bring.

My goal is to take the time and attention to help you become your best self and achieve your fullest potential! I offer a warm, empathetic safe space for you to share your feelings, thoughts and experiences. I provide positive and constructive feedback and suggestions to help you cope with problems, and find solutions.

I have immediate openings and I am looking forward to hearing from you! I offer a free 15 minute consolation call to make sure we are a good fit. If you are looking to make a change in your life, cope with stress, or recover from trauma please don't hesitate to reach out!

Are you a new mom seeking support?
I am certified in Moving Beyond Depression (MBD), which is a cognitive-behavioral Certificate program provided by the Cincinnati Children's Hospital to treat both prenatal and postpartum depression.
Using both solution-focused therapy and MBD, I will help you overcome problems you face as a parent. We focus on resolutions rather than letting these problems hold you back.

My Approach

Some of my favorite modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) as well as somatic and mindfulness meditation and coping skills. I am also Jungian informed and use past experiences as learning moments and focus on the impact past experience has had on the subconscious mind. I also use imagery in my sessions to help with insight.

Professional Experience

I started my career working for the State of Florida helping people with disabilities seek gainful employment. After that I transitioned to the juvenile justice system, helping teens navigate their transition back to the community after completing a residential substance abuse treatment program. I have also worked in community mental health at the Transitional Living Center, where I worked at the halfway house, helping people in recovery build resumes, seek employment, and process their experiences as they adjust to sobriety. I started working as a home visitor for pregnant women and new mothers, where I had a great connection and meaning to the work. I have also worked with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma.
